About

This site is going to be a bit of an experiment with my commitment . In my MA dissertation, I used a collection of family postcards from the 1900s as a surrogate collection and I will be using this site as a place to continue my ‘Peaking at Postcards’ project of making this material accessible, and why the material can be useful.

That project is under a larger umbrella of my personal interest in how and why memory institutions make Ephemera accessible, which is the second strand of this site. The third is just a general gabbing about my work in library-land

Ellie’s the name (Eleanor if I’m in trouble), and I’m a Research librarian in West Wales – I don’t know how it happened either. Outside of library-land, I’m a swimmer, pool, lake, sea, river- I’m not fussy, and am learning Welsh with varying degrees of success. My spiritual home will always be Aberystwyth.
